Alabama Crimson Tide running back Bo Scarbrough channels his inner Derrick Henry and beasts for an 18-yard touchdown run on the Washington Huskies.

The Alabama Crimson trailed the Washington Huskies 7-0 early in the first quarter of the 2016 Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl. Washington got on the board first on a sweet pass from quarterback Jake Browning to wide receiver Dante Pettis. It was only a matter of time for the Crimson Tide offense to get rolling.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts executed a strong, ground-and-pound drive that was capped off by a powerful 18-yard touchdown run from running back Bo Scarbrough. If you didn’t know any better, Scarbrough looked like 2015 Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry on the ground for the Crimson Tide.

Scarbrough has been a bit of a change-of-pace back for the Crimson Tide. Alabama head coach Nick Saban has been more inclined to go with Damien Harris as the featured back in this offense. Hurts and Scarbrough have been great complements in the Alabama running game nonetheless for offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin.

The big question heading into the National Semifinals between Alabama and Washington would be if the Huskies could stop the Alabama running game. Washington has the weapons in the secondary to thwart Hurts in the passing game, but Alabama is about as dominant as they come in the ground game.

The Huskies have done well in the early part of the game against the Alabama offensive attack, but did not hold their own on this well-orchestrated drive by the Crimson Tide.

Scarbrough probably has a few more bruising runs like this up his sleeve in this game. He was pure will on this score and would not be denied. It’s the type of run that is the mark of a champion. The Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl has been great so far through one quarter.
