Quincy Wilson

CB, Florida

Here’s where the Cleveland Browns will probably jump on a quarterback, but if they were smart, they would add another defensive prospect and wait until next year’s draft to draft a QB. That way the Browns could continue to rebuild and then finally put a rookie quarterback in a decent situation to succeed.

If the Browns wind up going with my strategy (which they probably won’t), they’d be wise to find another cornerback to pair with Joe Haden. This class is loaded with cornerbacks with first-round grades, and Florida’s Quincy Wilson belongs near the top of that list.

Wilson has the potential to be a shutdown corner at the next level because of his size (6-foot-1, 213 pounds) and aggressiveness to jam receivers at the line of scrimmage. He doesn’t have elite speed, but Wilson does a great job of messing up the timing for receivers on their routes and can jump the pass with some nice ball skills.

Having Haden and Wilson as Cleveland’s top two corners along with Garrett on the edge could suddenly have the Browns defense making some noise. They’re not going to make a run at the Super Bowl, but adding Wilson and Garrett in the first round could help the Browns start moving in the right direction.
