Jabrill Peppers

DB, Michigan

One of the toughest questions heading towards this year’s draft is where Michigan Wolverines star Jabrill Peppers is going to play in the NFL. Some say safety, some say outside linebacker and I even made the case for why he could be a solid running back.

However, I think that Peppers could thrive wherever he plays at the next level. The right defensive coaching staff won’t try to limit where Peppers plays, and perhaps having him serve in a “spur” role similar to guys like Deone Bucannon and Shaq Thompson could help him thrive as a defensive player in the NFL. Peppers fits the mold of a dynamic defensive player almost too well.

The Philadelphia Eagles have a handful of solid players at linebacker and in the secondary, but plugging Peppers in and having him move around could help everyone else play to their strengths.

It’s an unconventional pick, and while the Eagles have needs at other positions like wide receiver and running back, adding an elite athlete with the upside that Peppers has to the defense could wind up being the best move of the draft, or at least help turn the Eagles into a serious playoff contender in the NFC East.
