Cam Robinson

OT, Alabama

The Houston Texans are going to want to find a new quarterback, but unfortunately they’re not going to find a long-term starter if Watson, Kizer and Trubisky are already gone. Instead, they need to focus on fixing their offensive line.

Alabama’s Cam Robinson is going to project best as a right tackle in the NFL, but he could be a more than solid upgrade over Chris Clark. Robinson comes in at an impressive 6-foot-6 and 327 pounds, and he uses every bit of that frame to push back defenders.

Robinson is a more than capable run blocker, opening up plenty of holes for his running back. However, as we’ve seen against some of the better edge rushers in the SEC, Robinson can struggle in pass protection, especially on obvious passing downs when defenders smell blood. We saw that several times when Robinson went up against top-tier SEC edge rushers like Myles Garrett and Derek Barnett.

Still, Robinson can handle his own most of the time, and he could find a nice home in Houston to help start turning their offense around next season. Some have Robinson as the top tackle in this draft class, but even if he isn’t, there’s still a good chance that he winds up being taken in the first round.
