Jarrad Davis

LB, Florida

There are a number of directions that the Oakland Raiders could go with their late first-round pick, but defense should probably be the main focus. Perry Riley isn’t exactly a household name at inside linebacker, so finding an upgrade at the position would be a wise move.

Florida’s Jarrad Davis missed the majority of the second half of the season, but the film on him shows a potential late first or early second-round pick. Davis is a disruptive linebacker who is both an aggressive tackler and an instinctive player dropping back into coverage.

Davis’ biggest problem is a lack of gap discipline that can occasionally lead to some wide open rushing lanes. Still, he has the size and instincts to make plenty of plays in the middle of the defense, and that’s something that the Raiders could use for a Super Bowl run in 2017.
