Mike Williams

WR, Clemson

Thanks to the Los Angeles Rams, the Tennessee Titans will have two picks in the first round, including one of the first picks overall. There are a number of directions they could go with the No. 5 pick, but quarterback Marcus Mariota needs to find an official WR1 that he can rely on moving forward, because Tajae Sharpe and Rishard Matthews aren’t exactly franchise guys.

This class of receivers has three or four legitimate first-round guys, but Clemson’s Mike Williams will likely be the first player taken at the position. Coming back from a season-ending neck injury, Williams was a dominant force in college football this year. Heading into the national championship, Williams has already caught 90 passes for 1,267 yards and 10 touchdown.

Even at 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds, Williams has the speed and footwork to burn by guys on the outside. However, Williams also uses his size to his advantage, controlling his body to make incredible plays on 50-50 balls.

Williams will come into the NFL and become an immediate red zone threat and deep ball guy, a lot like Allen Robinson or maybe even DeAndre Hopkins. With that kind of guy on the outside, the offense could open up even more for Tennessee in 2017.
