High Value PG

Elfrid Payton-Orlando Magic (5,900): Payton is still coming off the bench for the Magic and his scoring still comes and goes at times. However, he had a nice 13-3-14 game for 43.75 fantasy points to start the New Year against Rose and the Knicks and also had a great game against Schroder and the Hawks with 26-3-14 for 54.75 fantasy points in the teams’ last meeting. Payton did have 16.75, and 15.25 fantasy points in two games before his 40+ fantasy points on Monday, so there is definitely some risk in rolling him out for tonight. However, the Hawks allow the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing PG, so Payton should get good run and good fantasy points tonight.∗∗∗∗

Malcolm Brogdon-Milwaukee Bucks (5,300): Brogdon continues to look great for the Bucks while filling in for the injured Matthew Dellavedova who may end up without a job by the time he’s ready to return. He struggled shooting the ball on Monday against the Thunder but still had 21.5 fantasy points on 12-2-5. It was a let down after his breakout triple-double on 15-11-12 against the Bulls on New Year’s Eve when he had 50 fantasy points, but don’t forget he had over 22 fantasy points in four of his five games before that breakout, so he should be at least worth his price if he gets another start for the Bucks tonight as they battle the Knicks in NYC.∗∗

Michael Carter-Williams-Chicago Bulls (4,500): MCW looks like he’ll continue to get the call in place of Rajon Rondo who the Bulls have soured on and left out of their rotation the last few games. Carter-Williams had 10-9-3 in his second start of the season on Monday totaling 27.75 fantasy points in 31 minutes against the Hornets. He doesn’t dominate the ball like Rondo on offense, but he offers solid enough non-scoring stats to have nice upside at under 5K if he plays over 30 minutes tonight against the Cavs who may be without Kyrie Irving (questionable-hamstring) for a third straight game.∗∗

Brandon Jennings-New York Knicks (4,300): Jennings gets a revenge game against the Bucks after getting increased run the last few games for New York due to injury and starting lineup changes. He started at SG on Saturday and played 41 minutes against the Rockets posting a massive 32-5-7 line for 51.25 fantasy points. He came back to earth with just 12-3-4 and 21.25 fantasy points in 24 minutes against the Magic on Monday, and he’ll continue his tour of his former teams as he faces the Bucks at the Garden tonight. Jennings role fluctuates from game to game which makes him high-risk but he definitely has a ceiling worth checking out at this price.∗∗

Jerian Grant-Chicago Bulls (3,500): With Rondo out of the rotation, Jerian Grant has found a nice slot behind Carter-Williams. He played 27 minutes on Monday and turned in a very solid 9-3-6 with four steals to total 2829.756 fantasy points. Grant has huge upside for a player under 4K, but he is risky since his role is tenuous at this point.
