DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-January 5
High Value PF
Trevor Booker-Brooklyn Nets (5,600): Booker had a huge game on Monday against his former team as he hung 17-15-2 against the Jazz for 42.25 fantasy points. It was his first game since December 14 with over 30 fantasy points, but he is a nightly double-double threat and has been a key contributor for the Nets all season. He has a high ceiling against Indiana tonight, but his minutes are held under 30 too often for him to be a lock.∗∗
Derrick Favors-Utah Jazz (4,900): The Jazz have been bringing Favors along slowly resulting in limited minutes and anemic fantasy outputs in some matchups. He looked good in his last game, though, posting 12-6-7 for 29.5 fantasy points which is his best total since returning from his latest injury. Favors has played 20+ minutes in four of his last five games and has over 24 fantasy points in two of his last three. He’s getting closer to full strength, and when he is 100% he’s worth much more than this 4.5K salary. IF you think he’s back or even close, grab him at this reduced rate and take the risk that he’ll get less than a full workload tonight in Toronto.∗∗∗
Marquese Chriss-Phoenix Suns (3,300): If you have to go under 4K at PF, the boom-or-bust option that I think makes the most sense is rookie Marquese Chriss who the Suns start at PF. Chriss had 33 fantasy points on Tuesday against eh Heat on 18-6-2 with a pair of steals. He was held under ten fantasy points in his two previous meetings, though, so there’s still a lot of inconsistency to his production from night-to-night making him a high-risk flier.∗
