Bill Walton, who ESPN put on their Megacast of the CFP National Championship game, decided to have a talk about recreational activities.

Bill Walton has become something of a national treasure with ESPN over the past few years. It has nothing to do with his game analysis either, because when he usually does color commentary for Pac-12 college basketball, he talks about everything but the action on the court. This usually makes for some interesting words and moments.

Well, likely playing off this and his social media fame, ESPN placed Walton on their ESPNU Megacast of the College Football Playoff National Championship game. He joined a handful of other company personalities like Michelle Beadle, Jay Bilas, and Keyshawn Johnson as part of this unique coverage of Alabama vs. Clemson.

Playing off Walton talking about anything but the game, cameras caught him talking about marijuana as ESPNU came back from commercial. He seemingly tried pleading his case about what the drug should be determined as. This lasted for a solid 10 seconds too in the video below:

It is one of the latest classic moments from the former NBA star, which will not look good for him saying on camera. However, ESPN had to have put this guy on there for a reason. He even showed up in an Uncle Sam costume for the telecast and continues to wear it throughout the program. This is bizarre and mind-boggling, but about what you would expect out of Walton in 2017.

If you want to see Bill Walton in action during a college basketball game, wait and see until he appears next on color commentary for ESPN’s Pac-12 coverage. It is quite the treat and something you will not be disappointed by.
