Winner: Baylor Bears (No. 2 up to No. 1)

We have a new No. 1 in college basketball and, you guessed it, it’s the Baylor Bears. Many were debating whether or not it should be Kansas that jumps to the No. 1 overall spot, but the Jayhawks nearly lost to Kansas State on their home floor in Week 9.

However, Baylor did narrowly escape two Big 12 opponents on its way to the top. The Bears beat Iowa State by just two points –although the Cyclones aren’t a bad team– and Oklahoma State by only four.

This team has built quite the impressive resume and there’s no wonder why they made the leap to that top spot. Being ranked No. 1 does come with added pressure, though, and it will be interesting to see if this team can handle it. The Bears will now get everyone’s best shot with the biggest target on their backs in the country.

Everyone wants to take down the No. 1 team in the land and the Bears will soon find out just how difficult it is to be ranked at the top. Still, it’s an impressive feat for this team that started the year outside of the AP Top 25 and has climbed ever so slightly each week to now being the No. 1 team.
