College Football Rankings: Projected top 25 for 2017
Colorado was the Cinderella team of the 2016-17 Pac-12 season, in 2017 they won’t be coming out of nowhere. Head coach Mike MacIntyre is starting to build something around the Colorado Buffaloes program and they should be a player in the south division for the next few seasons.
The last two games for the Buffs this past season were indications of how far the program has come and how far they have to go in order to compete for conference championships. Washington and Oklahoma State slapped the Buffaloes around and as expected with both squads being much more proven over the last few seasons. One of the biggest questions remains will the Colorado defense drop off with defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt going to Oregon just after the new year. Next season, it’s possible that Colorado brings in a top 25 recruiting class, add that with emerging starting QB Steven Montez and running back Philip Lindsay and the Buffaloes have a chance to make some noise out west again.
