Kansas State Wildcats

Last week: 9-4 Record

Kansas State’s 2016 season was a surprise to many around the college football world but when you look at the program, they’re right on track for an even bigger 2017. From slugging it out with Stanford to close losses to West Virginia and Oklahoma State. If Kansas State could’ve avoided a few fourth quarter meltdowns, they might’ve had an outside shot at a New Year’s Six bid.

The Wildcats capped off their season with a victory over the Texas A&M Aggies in the Texas Bowl and should be the springboard into a conference title contending 2017. Kansas State will return offensive standouts Jesse Ertz, Byron Pringle and Winston Dimel, the offensive line will stay intact for the most part.

Their biggest issue will be on defense, their two best tacklers from 2016, Elijah Lee and Mike Moore are both gone. The 2017 Kansas State defense will look to replace their 185 tackles from a year ago and doing that in a tough Big 12 is never easy.
