DraftKings fantasy golf picks-The Sony Open 2017
9,000-8,000
Scott Piercy (8,900): Like Gary Woodland and Jimmy Walker, Piercy has finished in the top 15 in each of the last two seasons. He was runner-up in Walker’s runaway in 2015 and finished with Walker and Woodland at t13 last year. Piercy didn’t play in Maui last week, but he posted three top-ten’s in the Fall Series with a t10 at the CIMB Classic, a t4 at the OHL Classic, and a t3 at the Safeway Open. Piercy tends to be a boom-or-bust play, but he can definitely contend in any field when he’s at his best.
Russell Henley (8,600): Henley won this event in 2013 but has finished t51, t17, and MC in the three years since. He posted a t10 in his last start at the RSM Classic in November, and his past course win makes him an intriguing mid-8K play.
Zach Johnson (8,500): Johnson missed the cut at the same RSM Classic, but he has a good history at this event with a t9 last year, a t8 three years ago, and a win here in 2009. He doesn’t come in with a lot of form but the former champ is a solid mid-range value.
Ryan Palmer (8,300): Palmer is another former winner who claimed the prize back in 2010. In his last three starts at this event, he has posted t8, t17, and t13. and he’s coming off a strong FedEx Cup Playoffs run where he posted threes straight top-25’s before being eliminated.
Marc Leishman (8,200): Leishman has finished in the top 40 in four straight years with a pair of top tens. He also ended the Fall Series with a pair of top-25’s with a solo-fifth at the CIMB Classic and a t24 at the OHL Classic.
