High Value PG

T.J. McConnell-Philadelphia 76ers (5,400): McConnell doesn’t score a ton of points, but he consistently creates and adds such good non-scoring numbers that he’s worth considering at under 6K. Last night, he played 31 minutes and had 4-3-8 with three steals for 23.6 fantasy points. He has led the Sixers to a 6-1 record in his seven starts (wait, what?!?!?!) and has 27+ fantasy points in four of his last six. Tonight, he’ll lead Phily into Washington to face the Wizards who may or may not have a banged up John Wall. McConnell should get a slightly higher usage rate on offense with Joel Embiid out leaving more shots for the rest of the starting unit.∗∗∗∗

Tony Parker-San Antonio Spurs (4,800): The Spurs’ veteran PG has been a solid fantasy option over the past few weeks with at least 24 fantasy points in eight of his nine games going back to Christmas Day. He had 20 points  and 23.7 fantasy points against the Suns during that run, and he’ll take on Phoenix again tonight in the desert. Parker had a blistering 37.1 fantasy points against Denver on 21-3-9  last Thursday and filled that this week with a disappointment against Charlotte (only 9.8 fantasy points) but nice numbers against Milwaukee (28.1 fantasy points) and the Lakers (24.4 fantasy points).∗∗∗

Rajon Rondo-Chicago Bulls (4,300): Rondo has been demoted and then promoted so that now he’s the first PG off the bench for the Bulls and runs their second unit. Since stepping into his “sixth-man” role, he has posted 29.8 fantasy points on 12-4-6 against the Wizards and 17.4 fantasy points on 4-2-8 against the Knicks. If Jimmy Butler is able to return, Rondo’s role could be further reduced, but he’s at least worth a look at this affordable price now that he’s seeing the floor.

D.J. Augustin-Orlando Magic (3,900): If you are looking for a cheap flier at PG, Augustin is worth considering since he has at least 19 fantasy points in three of his last four games for Orlando. He has had the hot hand coming off the bench, and been able to actually be a more consistent fantasy producer in the second unit than he was when he was starting for Frank Vogel. Still, his role off the bench makes him risky for tonight.
