Nintendo Switch consoles are sold out at GameStop
If you’re looking to reserve a Nintendo Switch at GameStop, you might be too late.
After the Nintendo Switch live presentation this past Thursday, it seems fans were really impressed. In a news release from GameStop, the company revealed that they’re all out of their initial Nintendo Switch allocation.
This isn’t good news for potential consumers looking to purchase the console. However, this is amazing news for Nintendo. After struggling with sales for the Wii U, they seem to have won the fans over with the Switch. They definitely won us over, that’s for sure.
Senior vice president of merchandising, Bob Puzon, released a statment. “The fact that this initial allotment has been completely reserved in a matter of a few days demonstrates gamers desire for this fun and revolutionary gaming system,” he said.
Consumers may be worried because of negative past experiences with Nintendo. In fact, one of the worst experiences was with the recently released Nintendo NES Classic Edition.
The NES Mini was release back on November 11, 2016, and we were amped to play it. Unfortunately, we couldn’t even get it on the first day because of the limited supply in stores. Every retailer (GameStop, Best Buy, Target, etc.) was completely short on this system. An absolute disaster, to say the least.
But, we have a good feeling that the Switch won’t have the same issues. Not only did Nintendo of America president, Reggie Fils-Aime, reassure this, but so did Puzon.
“We’re working closely with Nintendo to get additional Nintendo Switch units, and will let our customers know when they become available,” he said.
There are a number of reasons as to why you should be extremely excited for the Switch. For example, there’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is releasing as a launch title. The game looks fantastic and is shaping up to be one of the best games of the year.

A few other games have been announced, including party game 1-2 Switch, ARMS, Super Bomberman R, and Super Mario Odyssey. Did we mention that Breath of the Wild is a launch title?
