Tom Brady

Quarterback, New England Patriots

Tom Brady gets knocked down a spot due to a mediocre performance against the Houston Texans. Sure, their defense gave many quarterbacks nightmares throughout the regular season. However, Brady was uncharacteristically ineffective. Maybe it’s because number 12 has done so well in the playoffs, he’s spoiled fans and analysts. But two interceptions with a 47.4 completion percentage is terrible by just about anyone’s standards. Especially for someone as accomplished as Brady.

He will get a reprieve this week, as he faces the Pittsburgh Steelers defense. They looked great against the Chiefs, but Brady has done extremely well against Pittsburgh throughout his career. Against them, he has a 7-2 record in nine regular season games, averaging over 300 passing yards per game and nearly three passing touchdowns per game.

This is a huge weekend for Brady. Expect him to be confident and motivated when he takes the field against the Steelers. Brady knows this defense quite well and has done better against far better Pittsburgh defenses. This is nothing new for him. Brady’s motivation will be coming from being able to say he’s won the most Super Bowls of any quarterback. Even after a rough week, Patriots fans should be confident in their quarterback. It’s also telling of how good the two remaining signal callers are that Brady is merely third among the quartet of conference championship quarterbacks.
