FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-January 20
High Salary C
DeMarcus Cousins-Sacrmaneto Kings (10,600): With the Kings losing Rudy Gay for the season, Boogie’s already huge usage rate could climb even higher moving forward. He’s in a tough matchup against the Grizzlies tonight, but he did manage 26-4-8 and five steals for 47.8 fantasy points against them back on 12/31. While the matchup isn’t a “stay-away” it does raise the risk in spending five-figures on Cousins. He is coming off a pair of good games at home, though, when he had 31-11-7 for 56.7 fantasy points against the Thunder and 25-12-19 for 53.4 fantasy points against the Pacers.∗∗
Joel Embiid-Philadlephia 76ers (8,400): If you’ve been waiting for just the right tasty matchup to roll with “The Process” tonight is a great one to target since the Blazers have struggled with interior defense all season. Embiid is still on a minutes limit but that hasn’t stopped him from posting at least 20 points in ten straight starts with at least 33 fantasy points in each of those games and over 40 fantasy points in four straight and six of his last eight. He should get to 40 fantasy points again tonight.∗∗∗∗
Brook Lopez-Brooklyn Nets (7,400): The Nets have managed Lopez’s workload all season and he sat out on Sunday to get some rest. Apparently it worked since he returned with 28-8-2 and a pair of blocks for 41.6 fantasy points against the Raptors on Tuesday. He has now scored at least 20 points in five straight games, and if he can get the rebounds and blocks like he did Tuesday he’ll be in good shape. He’s in a good matchup against the Pelicans tonight who have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to opposing centers this season and who Lopez had 20-6-3 for 29.7 fantasy points against last week.∗∗∗
Myles Turner-Indiana Pacers (6,700): Turner isn’t nearly as reliable as the other options on the high-salary list, but he does have enough upside to be worth a look at 6.7K. He posted 18-12-1 with four blocks for 39.9 fantasy points against the Pelicans on Monday, but he only had 16-5-0 against Sacramento on Wednesday for 23 fantasy points. Turner is a little boom-or-bust, but he’s in a good matchup against LA tonight who have allowed more fantasy points to opposing centers over their last five games than any other team in the NBA by quite a wide margin.∗∗∗∗
