Patriots fan who set off fire alarm: ‘I’m drunk’
This might be surprising, but the New England Patriots fan who set off the Pittsburgh Steelers’ fire alarm on Sunday was drunk.
Before the AFC Championship game on Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers got a rude wake up call. Someone set off their hotel’s fire alarm, giving the team a very unexpected and unnecessary alarm. Obviously, this likely had nothing to do with the New England Patriots’ domination of the Steelers. The way they were playing, no one could have beaten them. However, the police found out who did it. It was a Patriots fan named Dennis Harrison. To the surprise of nobody, he was drunk.
“I’m drunk. I’m stupid,” said Harrison, via Boston Globe. “I’m a Pats fan.”
Luckily, his prank didn’t cause much damage. Harrison faces charges of disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and setting off a false fire alarm. In Massachusetts, neither of these crimes are considered a felony. The police have noted he was drunk and he has expressed regret and remorse of his actions.
On Monday, Harrison pled not guilty to all charges and was released on personal recognizance. After having his friend drive him to the hotel in question, his friend bolted on him, leaving him without a ride. Harrison started walking home, but was quickly found by police officers. He eventually admitted to pulling the fire alarm.

Harrison will face his next court appearance on Feb. 13. While his prank didn’t do any damage, what he did is still illegal. Even though Harrison was clearly inebriated by alcohol at the time of committing the crime, he’s still responsible for his actions. However, since none of the crimes are felonies, it’s likely he could avoid jail time. Harrison has no prior record, which should work in his favor as well.
