High Value PG

Marcus Smart-Boston Celtics (5,600): There are a ton of options over 6K tonight at PG, but the pool gets a little shallow once you get to the players in the “value”  regions. Smart is one of the players in this group getting plenty of playing time, though, since he has been filling in for the injured Avery Bradley. If Bradley is out again tonight, look for Smart to get 30+ minutes against the Pistons. Smart is coming off a downer on Saturday with just 19.3 fantasy points, but he had posted 23-33 fantasy points in his previous five games while contributing in a variety of categories. If he gets the playing time he’s a low-risk, low-ceiling option, but if Bradley returns his role will be reduced. No AB-∗∗ With Bradley-∗∗

Spencer Dinwiddie-Brooklyn Nets (3,900): Dinwiddie has been the Nets PG of the past couple of weeks and he is a cheap flier worth a look tonight as the Nets head to Miami. Dinwiddie has scored at least 10 points in four straight games and five of his last six. He had his best game during that stretch in his most recent outing when the Nets visited the T-Wolves in Minnesota. He finished with 26.3 fantasy points in that game on 13-4-5 which is a very good return for a player who costs less than 4K. If you decide to spend big elsewhere and go cheap at one of your PG slots, Diwiddie has been playing well enough to be your top target.

Yogi Ferrell-Dallas Mavericks (3,500): Another option you can check out on the cheap is the Mavericks newest PG plug-in Yogi Ferrell. Ferrell actually had a stint with the Nets earlier this season, but now he’s filling in for Dallas while J.J. Barea and Deron Williams are out. He stared and played a massive 36 minutes on Sunday against the Spurs finishing with 9-2-7 and 25.9 fantasy points. He’s a little riskier than Dinwiddie only because he has less of a track record and is playing the second night in a row as the Mavs host the Cavs.∗∗
