Iowa Hawkeyes

Last week: (12-10, 4-5 Big Ten)
Last rank: 10th

Speaking of young teams, the Iowa Hawkeyes fit that bill as well. Fran McCaffery has been losing his cool this season, per usual, but he has to feel good about the future of the program. Although the top player on the team, Peter Jok, is a senior, the Hawkeyes have plenty of youth to go around, such as Brady Ellington who broke out against Ohio State on Saturday night with 5-of-7 3-pointers.

Iowa quickly rebounded from a loss to Illinois earlier in Week 12 to put down the Ohio State Buckeyes. Ellingson moved into first place in the conference in terms of 3-point accuracy with the strong performance and if he can get going, the Hawkeyes will add another much-needed offensive weapon. They face a very winnable week at Nebraska and versus Rutgers ahead.

Indiana Hoosiers

Last week: (14-8, 4-5 Big Ten)
Last rank: 5th

The Hoosiers had yet another tough week and it’s hard to believe that they started the season with a 10-2 record with wins over Kansas and North Carolina. Tom Crean seems to be struggling to figure out the issues plaguing his team as the Hoosiers are now just 4-6 in their last 10 games. That’s shocking for a team that was in the top 10 not too long ago.

Indiana was coming into the week after having taken down Penn State at the buzzer and Michigan State at home, but even a three-game winning streak didn’t stop them from sliding again. The Hoosiers clearly miss OG Anunoby as they fell to Michigan by a whopping 30 points at Crisler Arena and Northwestern by 13. Can this team figure out a way to stop the bleeding or is 2016-17 a lost cause?
