High Value SG

Will Barton-Denver Nuggets (5,000): Barton is a high-risk, high-reward play tonight depending on who the Nuggets have available. Nikola Jokic is out, Jamal Murray and  Emmanuel Mudiay are both questionable, and Kenneth Faried and Wilson Chandler are expected to play through their injuries. If the Nuggets need some scoring power off the bench or even some help at PG, they could turn to Barton who normally produces when giventhe chance. He has been held under 16 fantasy points in three of his last four, though, due to a reduced role since Gary Harris’s return. The last time he faced the Lakers, Barton was heavily involved and had 41.8 fantasy points on 26-4-8. Another line like that is possible if he gets the time, but he’s high-risk because of all the murkiness around his role.

Gary Harris-Denver Nuggets (5,000): Harris’s role is much clearer than Barton’s since he’s the Nuggets clear choice at starting SG. His production has been a little uneven, though, since returning from his most recent injury. Harris had had two good games with over 30 fantasy points and two bad games with under 15 fantasy points. Given the matchup, I expect a good game from Harris tonight in LA and if he can approach his 15-8-4 for 34.6 fantasy points against the Suns from Saturday, he’ll be a great investment at this price.

Garrett Temple-Sacramento Kings (4,200): Temple continues to get plenty of playing time in Sacramento since Rudy Gay was lost for the season. Temple has played at least 30 minutes in six of his last seven games, but his production has still been a little all over the map. Temple has at least 17 fantasy points in seven of his last nine games. He is low-risk because he spends so much time on the floor, but he doesn’t have a high ceiling since he hasn’t reached double-digit scoring in three straight games and had grabbed just two total rebounds over that span.

Justin Holiday-New York Knicks (3,800): With Derrick Rose expected to miss tonight, there should be some extra minutes for Holiday in the backcourt with Brandon Jennings in the starting lineup. Holiday has at least 20 fantasy points in four of his last six games although he other two have been bad burns of just 5.4 and 4.4 fantasy points. He had 15-9-2 in 36 minutes against Atlanta posting 29.8 fantasy points in that extra time due to the overtimes. Even without that tonight, though, I think he’s the best cheap play as he brings the energy off the bench for the Knicks.∗∗∗
