FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-January 31
High Value PF
David Lee-San Antonio Spurs (5,700): Lee continues to pick up minutes while Pau Gasol is out and has been a pretty steady contributor for the Spurs. He had 14-3-4 and 23.6 fantasy points against his former team, the Mavericks, on Sunday. He still played 26 minutes even though he came off the bench, so he should be around 25 fantasy points whether he starts or subs in against the Thunder tonight. He has at least 27 fantasy points in four of his six games since stepping into a larger role, so go ahead with him if you’re spending under 6K and are ok with a low-ceiling, low-risk play.∗∗∗
Marvin Williams-Charlotte Hornets (5,100): Williams had 25.8 fantasy points against the Blazers last time the two teams met, and he has at least 21 fantasy points in four of his six games since then. Portland is still beatable down low although their defense has been a little better lately. They’re still allowing the second-most fantasy points per game in the NBA to opposing PF, so Williams should be able to get his game going tonight. He has scored in double-digits in four straight and six of his last eight, and in this matchup he has a lot of upside to like.∗∗
Ryan Anderson-Houston Rockets (5,000): The Rockets got a big game from Anderson on Sunday when James Harden was struggling. Anderson chipped in 27-7-0 for 37.4 fantasy points while playing 35 minutes. He has at least 35 minutes in three straight games and is clearly over his bout with the flu from earlier this month. He had 22 points the last time the Rockets faced Sacramento and has over 15 points in three of his four games since returning to full strength. Anderson has a higher ceiling than Williams or Lee, but he also brings more risk since he is so reliant on his outside shot.∗∗
Larry Nance Jr.-Los Angeles Lakers (3,800): Julius Randle has already been ruled out for tonight’s game against the Nuggets with pneumonia. Larry Nance is still just getting back up to full strength after missing 16 games with a knee injury, but he’ll be called on for more minutes tonight. Nance played 23 minutes in Utah last Thursday in the Lakers last game and had 4-7-3 for 14.9 fantasy points. He showed earlier this season he can produce when given time, so he’s the high-risk, high-reward flier I like the most at PF tonight.∗
