USC Trojans

,

If you happened to be one of the many college football fans glued to your television from morning-to-afternoon watching the National Signing Day coverage, it probably felt like the USC Trojans were being mentioned as signing someone every five minutes. While that might be hyperbole, it’s only slightly so. Clay Helton and the Trojans had a massive day not just in terms of the number of players signed, but in regards to the talent level of those players they saw commit on Wedensday:

USC landed 18 commitments and/or signed letters of intent on National Signing Day, which is a wild number in itself. However, it’s even wilder when you consider that 15 of those young men rank in the top 500 overall prospects and that 11 of the players ranked in the top 200 overall prospects. After showing they were back with a monster Rose Bowl win, the Trojans announced their presence with authority on NSD.

No. 3 ranked running back and No. 20 overall prospect Stephen Carr, No. 8 offensive tackle and No. 35 overall prospect, and No. 4 wide receiver and No. 31 overall prospect Joseph Lewis, were the biggest commitments of the day for USC with Carr and Lewis being five-stars. However, you also can’t sleep on players like Bubba Bolden, Levi Jones, and Hunter Echols on the defensive end. What’s more, Josh Falo looks like he could be an absolute star at tight end. Things were already looking up with Sam Darnold now at the helm for USC. With this recruiting class now joining him, that’s even more so the case.
