Top 10 college football recruiting classes after National Signing Day
Though they were embarrassed by Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl, the Ohio State Buckeyes won’t be hurting for long. Much in the same vein that we talk about Alabama with, Urban Meyer and Ohio State don’t every drop off as they’re always bringing in the best on the recruiting trail. Nothing changed leading up to National Signing Day 2017 as these are the commits that are already bound for Columbus:
When you look at the talent that the Buckeyes are losing following the 2016 season, there is a litany of talent making an exodus to the NFL draft from the defense. So Meyer has just gone out and grabbed four five-star defensive recruits in addition to another five-star in Wyatt Davis, a mammoth offensive guard out of Bellflower, CA. But with Jeffrey Okudah, Chase Young, Baron Browning, and Shaun Wade all coming into the defense for the Buckeyes, they won’t miss a beat despite losing all of that talent.
It doesn’t stop there for Ohio State, though, as they’re re-tooling their offense with a bevy of four-star recruits in addition to adding more defensive studs that are four-stars as well. National Signing Day was relatively quiet in Columbus, but largely because their work was already done. Again, the Buckeyes have a lot to mentally recover from after the way they were handled in the Fiesta Bowl and then with the talent they’re waving goodbye to. However, a recruiting class as good as this one will heal a lot of wounds.
