DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-February 1
High Value C
Steven Adams-Oklahoma City Thunder (5,400): Last night, Adams played 34 minutes against the tough interior defense of San Antonio and acquitted himself well with 16-12-2 and 38.5 fantasy points. He has over 35 fantasy points in two of his last four but under 25 in the other two during that timespan. Adams has scored 15 points or more in three of those four games, so I think his boards and blocks will get back on track as he gets back to 100% after his concussion. Tonight, he gets a good matchup against the Bulls and should get all the minutes he can handle with Enes Kanter still out.∗∗∗
Tristan Thompson-Cleveland Cavaliers (4,800): Thompson should end up with a heavy workload tonight agaisnt the twin towers in Minnesota’s front line. With Kevin Love out, Thompson had a huge game against the Thunder on Sunday with 19-12-1 with four blocks and four steals resulting in 52.5 fantasy points. Unfortunately, the second game of his back-to-back didn’t go so well for him against the Mavericks who held him scoreless with eight rebounds in 26 minutes. Tonight, I see my fellow-Thompson as a boom-or-bust play, but he should get plenty of minutes.∗∗
Guillermo Hernangomez-New York Knicks (3,900): Hernangomez got the start last night in place of Kristaps Porzingis and he had a huge game against Washington going for 15-14-4 and 39.5 fantasy points against the Wizards. He has at least 34 fantasy points in three of his last five games. In each of those three games, he played over 23 minutes while he only played 18 minutes total in the other two contests. In fact, in the four-overtime game on Sunday Hernangomez totaled just three stat-free minutes. If Porzingis is out again tonight, he’ll be a popular but high-upside play. However, if Porzingis returns his playing time and role get almost impossible to predict. With Porzingis-∗ No Porzingis-∗∗∗∗
Lucas Nogueira-Toronto Raptors (3,800): If Porzingis does come back and make Hernangomez less of an option, the other cheap center who I like tonight is the Raptors Lucas Nogueira who continues to find ways to help Toronto. He has at least 21 fantasy points in five of his last six games and had 7-8-9 and two blocks against the Pelicans in 22 minutes off the bench. He doesn’t have the upside of Hernangomez, but his role is clearer if Porzingis returns and pushes Hernangomez back to the pine.∗∗
