FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup-February 3
High Value SG
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope-Detroit Pistons (6,000): KCP carried my FanDuel daily picks on Wednesday night with a career game agains the Pelicans. He exploded for 50.3 fantasy points on 38-4-1 and four steals. He has over 29 fantasy points in three of his four games since returning from a shoulder injury and had at least that many in four of his last five before going down early against Golden State. He is getting the chance to shine right now in the Detroit attack, and he has stepped up often enough to be worth his 6K play tonight as he faces the Timberwolves.∗∗∗∗
Wesley Matthews-Dallas Mavericks (5,400): Like his former teammate Nicolas Batum on Tuesday, Wesley Matthews returns to the Pacific Northwest to take on the Blazers in a possible revenge game tonight. He cooled off on Wednesday with just 9-6-1 for 16.7 fantasy points after running off six games in his previous seven complete contests with at least 26 fantasy points. He did deal with a hip injury in the middle of that run but looked strong with 17-7-3 for 32.9 fantasy points against the Spurs and 21-4-2 for 28.8 fantasy points against the Cavs in his first two games back. Matthews had 16-4-3 and three steals for 30.3 fantasy points against Portland earlier this season, and he’ll look to post a similar number tonight in Portland.∗∗∗
Nick Young-Los Angeles Lakers (4,300): Young struggled last night finishing with just 7-1-0 for 8.2 fantasy points against the Wizards. He had at least 17 fantasy points in six of his previous seven games, though, so he may be ready to bounce right back tonight against Boston who usually plays the up-tempo, free-shooting style that helped Swaggy P put up good numbers. He’s volatile as you can see from his 23-3-3 for 32.1 fantasy points on Tuesday followed by his 8.2 fantasy points last night.∗∗
Allen Crabbe-Portland Trail Blazers (3,800): Crabbe has scored at least 20 points in two of his last three games for the Blazers and has at least 25 fantasy points in each of those contests. He had 21-4-0 for 29 fantasy points against the Hornets on Tuesday, and he will look to continue to offer some nice offensive spark coming off the bench tonight against Dallas who he had 14-6-1 and over 20 fantasy points against in their last meeting.∗∗
Malachi Richardson-Sacramento Kings (3,500): Is it finally Malachi time? The Kings rookie could finally be getting consistent court time now that Garrett Temple has joined Rudy Gay on the sidelines. Richardson has shown flashes of potential this season including 8-3-0 in 19 minutes on Tuesday. If he gets 20+ minutes of playing time on a regular basis, I think he’ll be a solid flier play, but he’s still extremely high-risk at this point.∗
