Even at 40 years old, Vince Carter can still bring it during an NBA game.

Vince Carter has wowed NBA fans and players with his crazy dunks.

Yet on Monday night as the Memphis Grizzlies took on the San Antonio Spurs, the popular NBA star showed the world he still has hops. He blocked two shots from the Spurs in quick fashion.

The 6′ 6″ guard/forward showed in rapid succession that age is just a number as he blocked not one but two Spurs players. Memphis held on to a small lead at this moment in the fourth quarter thanks in part to Carter’s play.

What makes Carter’s athletic play and defensive dominance better is the TNT announcer. His enthusiasm on Carter’s back-to-back dunks adds to the brilliance NBA fans witnessed in less than 10 seconds of play. It’s hard enough to block the ball once in the NBA. Yet, it’s even harder to block two consecutive shots that require you to jump off the ground in a short time frame.

Carter has a long list of highlights throughout his NBA career. Usually, they are on the offensive side of things, from the big man’s deep ball to his wonderful displays as he slammed the ball home. Yet, his defensive skills were highlighted on Monday night to a national audience.

The NBA won’t be the same when Carter finally hangs it up. However, until that day comes, he will continue to impress and surprise NBA media members and fans with more highlights despite being 40 years old. He finished with four blocks in the Grizzlies’ 89-74 win.

Professional basketball games are not kind to those older than 30, but Carter is showing that age is just a number. He can still hang and dominate the younger population of players on the hardwood.
