The app will celebrate all things pink in the world of Pokémon catching, hatching and training throughout the week leading up to Valentine’s Day.

Pokémon trainers will notice a huge increase in the amount of Candy they collect this week using the app. To celebrate the holiday of love, the team at Pokémon Go has doubled the amount you’ll receive when you catch, hatch or train a Pokémon. Your buddy Pokémon is also getting in the Valentine’s Day spirit, and will find and collect Candy twice as fast.

But that’s not all in store for the app this week. Pink Pokémon will flood the streets, including Chansey and Clefable, and many others will be encountered more frequently in the wild. Cleffa, Igglybuff and Smoochum will be more likely to hatch from your Eggs.

Finally, to help “paint the town pink,” as it were, Lure Modules will last an increased six hours throughout the duration of the event. The celebration will be up and running from 11:00 a.m. PST today to 11:00 a.m. PST on Feb. 15, so get moving and catch those Pokémon!

Fans are excited to find new rare, pink Pokémon out in the wild.

Niantic has previously done a double Candy event before, during the Halloween season, but Buddy Pokémon finding Candy twice as fast is a bit of a downgrade from the four times fast seen during that celebration.

Gen 2, the next edition of Pokémon Go, is expected to drop at some point, but in the meantime, players will have to be content trying to catch their next Porygon.

For those of you still playing Pokémon Go, does this announcement cut it or are you stilling waiting out for Gen 2? Or are you just excited to finally catch your first Chansey? Let us know in the comments!
