5 trade ideas to save the Toronto Raptors

3. Jared Sullinger and Jakob Poeltl to Chicago for Taj Gibson
This trade is dependent on what direction Chicago thinks its season is going. The Bulls are currently battling for the last playoff spot in the east. However, the Bulls have been an absolutely mess this year. The locker room is highly combustible and head coach Fred Hoiberg is on the hot seat.
Taj Gibson has spent the majority of his career in Chicago as a sixth man. Over the past two seasons Gibson has been a starter. Given his willingness to accept any role, he is just the player the Raptors will be looking to trade for. More importantly, he maybe the perfect fit next to Valanciunas. Gibson is a free agent at the end of the season and it is unclear if the Bulls are interested in extending him.
The Bulls may elect to blow their roster up. Sullinger is also an expiring contract, so Chicago will still get cap space at the end of the season. The Bulls only center on the roster is Robin Lopez. Acquiring Jakob Poeltl, taken with the No. 9 pick in last year’s draft, would give them a young promising center. While Poeltl has struggled to break into Toronto’s rotation, he’s a a promising young prospect.
