George and Amal Clooney announce they’re having twins

Some much-needed feel-good news has come out of Hollywood: Amal and George Clooney are expecting twins.

The Clooney family is growing by two. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amal and George Clooney sat down with Julie Chen of The Talk to confirm the news. And though a representative for the Clooney family did not return the outlet’s request for comment, the news that Amal is pregnant is surely a bit of joyous news for the couple, who tied the knot in Italy in 2014.

These will be the first children for the couple. Though this is Amal’s first marriage, George has been married once before; however, the marriage produced no children.

Rumors about the couple’s impending pregnancy have loomed for a while. Amal is best known for her work as an international human rights lawyer and professor of law, while George is a Hollywood leading actor.

Speaking on Entertainment Tonight, Julie Chen said this is the second celebrity who announced their dual expectancy. Before it was announced that Amal is pregnant with twins, it was infamously announced that music superstar Beyonce was also expecting twins of her own. What’s in the water in Hollywood?!

Chen informed the audience that the twins would be coming in June of this year.

George Clooney has said, in the past, he was hesitant about becoming a father.

“I mean, I’ve thought about it, I suppose, but it hasn’t been high on my list. I’ve been asked it a lot lately, because I’ve gotten married and I am doing a movie with kids in it. You should see how different, how creative the way they ask me!” he said to Charlie Rose in an interview.
