Baltimore Ravens free agency 2017: Top 5 targets
1. Jabaal Sheard
The Ravens rarely spend money on the pass rush. However, they might have to in order to be a contender in 2017. Elvis Dumervil is likely going to be a salary cap casualty, leaving Baltimore with a hole in their front seven. Jabaal Sheard could be a cost effective option for them.
Of course, he comes with a bit of risk. While Sheard is quite productive when he’s healthy, his health sets off a few red flags. Especially when one considers the health of Terrell Suggs, who has torn both of his Achilles tendons within the last five years. However, Baltimore needs to be willing to take some risks because no team ever got good without taking some.
Sheard fits with Baltimore’s scheme, giving them a very solid pass rusher who could flourish opposite Suggs. Even if the Ravens decide to go with a pass rusher in the first round of the 2017 draft, Sheard is a solid run stopper as well, grading high in run defense.

His health likely keeps him from getting a big contract. The team that knows him the most, the New England Patriots, are famous for having a revolving door of pass rushers on their defense. If the price is right for the Ravens, Sheard makes a lot of sense.
