Ricky Wagner

The Texans have historically prided themselves on strong offensive line play. However, in 2016 that was not the case. Their biggest issue was injuries, and their most injured lineman was right tackle, Derek Newton. Newton tore both of his patellar tendons. That is an absolutely devastating injury, and it is extremely tough to assume that any player can ever play again recovering from that, let alone play at a high level.

Therefore the Texans should be operating this offseason as if they need a new right tackle. In comes Ricky Wagner. Wagner is going to be the top tackle on the market this offseason, right or left. The Ravens have some big needs, and thanks to a price tag on Joe Flacco even bigger than Osweiler, the Ravens may not be able to pay him. If there is one guy the Texans should offer enormous amounts of money to this offseason, it is Wagner.

To get a player of Wagner’s calibe would be a perfect fit at right tackle. It should make him one of the top priorities for the Texans this offseason, on a team that isn’t far from getting to the Super Bowl should the quarterback situation be rectified.
