4. Ersan Ilyasova

The amount of bodies that occupy the frontcourt of the Philadelphia 76ers remains absurd. We know that Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel are likely or are potentially going to be on the move at the NBA Trade Deadline. However, they could also be looking to move other pieces in the interest of continuing to build for the future. One such candidate to be dealt with that in mind would be veteran forward Ersan Ilyasova.

At 29-years old, Ilyasova has been a solid contributor for the Sixers this season. With that said, the reason that they would deal him has very little to do with that. Instead, the crux of the issue comes down to the fact that he’s a free agent after the 2016-17 season and Philly — Hinkie or no Hinkie—is in the business of getting assets and not losing players for nothing. Thus, they could be looking for a trade that gives them anything in return so that they don’t just see the Turkish forward walk away leaving only an empty roster spot this summer.

Cleveland would have to like what Ilyasova brings to the table as he’s somewhat of poor man’s version of what Love offers. The Sixers forward is a bit worse of an outside shooter for his career and definitely a step down in terms of rebounding ability. However, he’s average to above-average in both areas and could certainly make an impact for the Cavaliers when on the floor. Depending on the price that Philly would want the Cavs to pay, which would need at least Iman Shumpert to match salaries, a deal for Ilyasova makes sense in principle.
