Utah Utes

Last week: 17-8 (8-5 Pac-12)
Last rank: 6

Utah remains int he No. 6 spot this week and remains a team that has some work to do when reaching the NCAA Tournament. While the back half of their schedule is very generous, they kick off the final part of the regular season with a trip to Oregon and facing the highly ranked Ducks. While I’ve said that the ceiling for the conference is five teams reaching the tournament, Utah can make a case for six with a win against Oregon on the road. Even if it is a monumental task for the Utes.

USC Trojans

Last week: 21-5 (8-5 Pac-12)
Last rank: 5

USC is 5-2 in their last seven ballgames and has been presented with a golden opportunity this week as they face the crosstown rival UCLA Bruins. While that presents somewhat of a tall task, many people forget that USC has won four straight against the Bruins. A season sweep of UCLA would put the Trojans in great bracketing position for the NCAA Tournament. As of right now, most bracket projections have USC at a seven seed, beating UCLA this week would push the Trojans up the seed line a few notches.
