4. DeSean Jackson

On offense, Marcus Mariota proved that he was so good of a quarterback by putting up great numbers with limited options at wide receiver. Rishard Matthews is a boom or bust guy. When he is making plays, they are big, highlight plays and ones that matter. However, at the same time, you see lack of separation and drops just as much. Still, he was the number one target for Mariota last season.

Tajae Sharpe as a late round rookie was the second wide receiver option. He showed that he can be a possession guy, but doesn’t have the dynamic athletic ability or speed to be a featured wide receiver. This is where Jackson comes in.

Jackson is a game-breaker. He has the dynamic speed to take the top off. What is the most underrated part of his game, however, is not even when the ball is thrown to him. His presence on the field captures every over the top safeties attention. He clears space for everybody around him, whether it be the player on the opposite side of the field or the underneath options in the middle.

This makes him a perfect fit for the possession receiver Sharpe, and the potential slot capabilities of Matthews. Add in Delanie Walker, and all of the sudden Jackson turns this group from below average, to a dangerous group.
