Patrick Mahomes II

QB, Texas Tech

This may be a shocker to most people, but we have been saying that Patrick Mahomes II is a first-round talent for months now. The Buffalo Bills have a very solid quarterback in Tyrod Taylor, though the organization is definitely not sold on him. He is slated to make a ton of money if the team picks up his contract, which most believe will not happen. Some have even said the team may look to start Cardale Jones, so obviously the position is in trouble.

Mahomes brings so much to a team, possessing incredible physical gifts with great decision making. At the next level, he is going to have to work on his footwork, but any good coach can help him in that department. The Bills are still looking for their first franchise quarterback since Hall of Famer Jim Kelly, so the time may be right for them to make a move for a QB in this draft.

At Texas Tech, Mahomes racked up some eye-popping numbers, though his critics believe that could actually hurt him. We don’t, and it would not surprise us at all if he is the first quarterback taken in April. He is an incredibly mature kid, and with the Bills desperate to get back to the playoffs for the first time in 18 years, the time is right for them to take a big swing in this April’s draft.
