2017 NFL Mock Draft: Patrick Mahomes on the rise
By Brad Weiss
While the Seattle Seahawks once again made it to the playoffs in 2016, the organization has to be concerned with their defensive secondary. Playing with Earl Thomas, the Seahawks looked very beatable, and veteran Richard Sherman looked like he lost a step in the playoffs. It has recently come out that he was playing hurt, but the fact is that they just do not have enough depth in their defensive secondary.
With Russell Wilson still an elite quarterback, the Seahawks will have to look to bolster their defensive in round one in April. The cornerback position is loaded with talent in this draft, and the Seahawks may be able to look instate for their pick at No. 26. Sidney Jones of Washington is one of the best corners in college football, and he would be right at home playing for the Seahawks.
Jones is a shutdown corner, who was often tasked with covering some of the best talent in the Pac-12. He was a key reason why the Huskies made it all the way to the College Football Playoff this past season, and his game perfect equates to the pro game. He would team with Sherman to form an incredible 1-2 duo at cornerback, and with Thomas coming back for 2017, the Legion of Boom will once again be in full force.
