2017 NFL Mock Draft: Patrick Mahomes on the rise
By Brad Weiss
The Atlanta Falcons had a special 2016 NFL season, making it all the way to Super Bowl LI. Thanks to an incredible offense, the Falcons were able to put up some eye-popping statistics, but fell a bit short of their ultimate goal in their heartbreaking loss to the New England Patriots. Head coach Dan Quinn is going to have to regroup as they head into 2017, and the secondary may need some help moving forward.
Teez Tabor teamed with Quincy Wilson at the University of Florida to form the best 1-2 cornerback tandem in the SEC, as they helped lead the Gators to an SEC Championship Game. Tabor has all the tools to be a very good corner at the next level, possessing incredible playmaking ability. The Falcons love flashy cornerbacks, and Tabor definitely fits that mold.
Atlanta cannot afford to take a step back, as the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Carolina Panthers will all be looking to knock them off in the NFC South. All three divisional rivals have terrific quarterbacks, so the pressure will be on for the Falcons to make sure they are solid in the defensive backfield. Tabor is a nice prospect, and if he can shut people down like he did at Florida, the Falcons could see much better production from the cornerback position in 2017.
