1. Wide Receiver

Robert Woods is a free agent this offseason. Between Woods and Gilmore, it is likely only one will be back, and there is a chance that neither will be back. Sammy Watkins has been injured in parts of both of the last two seasons, and last year was essentially a wash thanks to an early foot injury. It would be great to have him step up, but with a small question mark around him, and the potential that Woods will walk, wide receiver is a major issue.

Justin Hunter, Brandon Tate, and Marquise Goodwin are all free agents as well, but let’s face it, they have to do better than bring those three back. Whether it be figuring out if Tyrod Taylor is worth big money, a rookie or a veteran signal caller, it will be impossible to get the most out of them with this arsenal of pass catchers.

Kenny Stills and DeSean Jackson would be rich man versions of Goodwin and would take a lot of over the top coverage away from Watkins. Cordarrelle Patterson could be a low risk, high reward option that would add a spark to the playbook in terms of his use. Markus Wheaton is a potential buy low option, and Kenny Britt is a potentially high ceiling bang for your buck. Nonetheless, these are just a few of the affordable, but better than what they have players that the Bills could look at.

Of course, if they are losing three or four receivers to free agency, the draft should be in play as well as free agency. With the 10th pick, Mike Williams would be a great fit next to Sammy Watkins. If they do go safety or quarterback with the pick, there will likely be some field stretching options in the second round that could be named a starter as a rookie. There is almost no chance the Bills come into 2017 with the same receiving corps, now it is on them to make sure that it is a better unit than the year before.
