3. Cornerback

Arguably even more pressing than safety is the cornerback position. As mentioned, Revis may move to safety. The reason anyone is even calling for the move is because of his well below average play this season that seemingly came out of nowhere. The Jets could also move on from Revis and save about $9 million. Either way, their true number one corner is going to need to be replaced immediately.

Buster Skrine needed to step in for the poor play of Revis and showed that he is a number two or three guy at best. Marcus Williams and Dexter McDougle are restricted free agents and it goes without saying that this position could look entirely different by August.

They will likely hit the position in the draft, potentially multiple times from rounds 2-5. Mo Claiborne and A.J. Bouye are coming off of big years, and both are free agents who could fill the void that Revis is giving them. Logan Ryan, Ross Cockrell, and Prince Amukamara are some lower tier names who would be more affordable but can give more promising play than what they saw in 2016. Either way, it is expected that at least two new names are on this roster, and it may be a complete overhaul this offseason.
