Dallas Cowboys free agency 2017: Top 5 targets
2. Brian Quick
Terrance Williams and Brice Butler are free agents this offseason. There are reasons to reason one over the other, but at the same time, there are reasons to re-sign neither. Both have been underwhelming at times, there is a good chance that through the draft or free agency can they find an outside player who can play across from Dez Bryant, and free the slot for Cole Beasley.
A riskier free agent, but a potential cheap one who could come in and start next season, and help ease in a rookie option would be Brian Quick. At 6-foot-4, Quick has a big body and has enough speed to be a downfield threat. He is a more talented receiver than either Butler or Williams, and he likely can come at a cheaper or similar price tag.
That is because the drawback of Quick is that he cannot stay healthy. Quick has started 24 games in five seasons. That has led to only ten career touchdowns in that span. It is not one thing, but a plethora of nagging injuries that continue to keep him out, and the question becomes whether or not he is built for the game. Still, the Cowboys could give him a shot, to at least buy some time to polish a rookie that can eventually take his place.
