Barry Church

Their first priority is to re-sign their own, and their top priority to be to re-sign their own. The Cowboys have a great core of players, and the last thing that they would want to do is lose their own. Especially an impact player such as Church.

Church has played seven NFL seasons, all with Dallas. While he did miss four games last season, it was also arguably the best season of his career. He has been a consistent starter over the past four years and can play in the box, in the slot and deep in coverage. He is a player they cannot replace.

Hopefully, he can be a free agent that they can afford. He will come in as one of the best safeties available, and with Eric Berry likely to be re-signed, he could be the next person a lot of teams look to. The Cowboys can figure out ways to invest some money into him, however, they cannot go out there and win a bidding war.

The initial sense is that Church will be re-signed at a fair price for both sides. Church has the interest at staying in one place and being on a contender, while the Cowboys know that they need to retain their own while they have their core established.
