2. Carolina Panthers

The Panthers tackle position is completely up in the air. On the left side, there is Michael Oher. He started on a Super Bowl caliber team in 2015 and has some name value. However, he has not played since the early portion of the season with a concussion issue. This issue not only spread the length of the season, but the most recent reports out of Carolina were that even in the offseason he is still in the concussion protocol. When dealing with an injury like that, there is no timetable and retirement is even on the table.

On the right side, there is Michael Remmers. Remmers is a free agent, though. He slotted in on the left side for Oher when he went down, and to keep it short, it was not pretty. However, that is to say, that the time in which Remmers has played on the right side actually was pretty.

Remmers only has two years of starting experience, and while he has played on the left side in one year, and the right in the other, there is a question as to whether or not he is starting caliber on either side. If the Panthers were not completely desperate, Remmers would not even be a thought to come back. One way to move on from Remmers would be Reiff. Reiff can take his spot on the right side or can take Oher’s’, given his question marks. Either way, he should be one of the first names they call thanks to his position versatility.
