MItch Trubisky

QB, UNC

Once upon a time, Mitch Trubisky was named Mr. Football in the state of Ohio, after putting up eye-popping numbers at Mentor (OH) High School. Now, after starting one season in Chapel Hill, Trubisky is going to make the jump to the NFL, and his hometown team may be waiting for him. The Browns would like no more than for an Ohio kid to don the orange, and lead the Browns out of the cellar in the AFC North.

Trubisky is a bit of a wild card, considering he only started the one season for the Tar Heels. Still, his physical gifts are incredible, and he has all the arm strength to get you where you need to go. While he does not have a ton of experience, he is ready to take the next step in his football career, and it would certainly be something if he were able to do it in the state he grew up in.

While the Browns may take a QB at No. 12, they may not even have the pick, as the Patriots and Browns may swing a deal prior to the April draft for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. If that is the case, this pick will belong to the Patriots, who would probably select a defensive player at No. 12. If Cleveland does hang on to the pick, how cool would it be to see a kid from Ohio lead Cleveland to a championship. I think it has happened in basketball before, and it certainly was a national story.
