2017 NFL Mock Draft: Clemson stars dominate
By Brad Weiss
The Jacksonville Jaguars have been making some moves this offseason, as they look to rebound from another disappointing season in 2016. Quarterback Blake Bortles took a major step back this past season, and the organization has to be wondering if he is still the answer at the position for the next few years. Former head coach Tom Coughlin was brought in to run the football operations, and he has already made a splash in his first few weeks on the job.
Last offseason, the Jaguars brought in some veteran leadership on the defensive side of the ball, but none of their moves really panned out. This year, they need to focus on the young talent they have on the roster, as well as bring in some young talent to continue their youth movement. The Jaguars secondary was atrocious in 2016, and adding a player like Jamal Adams from LSU would instantly upgrade the group heading into the 2017 season.
Adams is the best safety in this draft class, and he is the kind of player who is going to make an impact during his rookie season. The Jaguars play in a very winnable division, and some experts actually expected them to win the AFC South this past season. The season will hinge on the progression Bortles makes from last season, and if the offense can move the ball with some consistency, they should be playing meaningful games late into the season.
