Houston Rockets

Sending out: K.J. McDaniels (HOU)

Bringing in: Kyle Anderson (SAS)

The Houston Rockets have already made one move at the deadline, bringing in Lou Williams from the Los Angeles Lakers. That opens some minutes on the wing as Corey Brewer headed out. Trevor Ariza and Sam Dekker will likely absorb a lot of those as the Rockets move into the playoffs but Kyle Anderson offers an intriguing fall-back alternative to K.J. McDaniels.

Anderson has also grown into a competent defender who can handle multiple positions, he’s also a very good rebounder for his size and can work as a complementary playmaker and passer. In short, he offers a lot more than McDaniels in almost every area besides athleticism. This may not be a huge deal for the Rockets’ championship odds but it’s definitely an improvement on the margins.
