Memphis Grizzlies

Sending out: Deyonta Davis (ATL), Troy Daniels (TOR)

Bringing in: Jonas Jerebko (BOS)

The Memphis Grizzlies have had a surprisingly strong season and, although not quite a championship contender, could be in position to take advantage of someone in the playoffs. The team had remade their system and playing slightly faster and stretchier has really helped.

Adding Jerebko is tinkering on the edges of the roster but he’s mobile, can theoretically defend two positions, helps on the glass and is a decent 3-point shooter (although his percentages are down this year). He could slot in nicely to the Grizzlies’ frontcourt rotation in the playoffs, not really taking anything off the table. He’s also a free agent this summer which means there is no long-term commitment.

Daniels has been nice but non-essential. Deyonta Davis was an exciting add in last year’s draft but he’s incredibly raw and is just as much of a question mark as he was in last year’s draft. The Grizzlies might be better off here with Jerebko, taking a player they actually know can help them.
