4. Figure out the QB position

This is a very intriguing situation in Denver, as Trevor Siemian played very well in his first season as a starter for the Broncos. During the 2016 preseason, Siemian beat out veteran Mark Sanchez, who was brought over to the Broncos to be the team’s starter. Not only did Siemian beat out Sanchez, but also Paxton Lynch, who the team spent a first round pick on to be the future at the position.

While Siemian played well in 2016, he by no means will head into the preseason as the definite starter. New head coach Vance Joseph has said that Lynch will get the opportunity to win the position outright, which should make this preseason interesting once again. The team has also put out some feelers to Tony Romo, who should be released by the Dallas Cowboys in the coming weeks.

Siemian deserves the first shot at the position, as he did a good job of moving the ball despite the fact that the team had no running game to speak of. He seemed to get better as the year went on, and Lynch by no means set the world on fire during his two starts last season. Whatever Joseph decides to do, he needs to make the decision fairly early in camp, as the team cannot go another preseason worrying about who is going to be under center when the Broncos open up their season in September.
