Denver Broncos: 5 offseason needs
By Brad Weiss
3. Make a seamless transition to Vance Joseph
One of the biggest surprises of the offseason so far for the Denver Broncos has been the fact that they will head into next season with a new head coach. Due to health issues, Gary Kubiak had to retire from coaching the team after only two season, one in which he led the team to the Super Bowl title. The Broncos moved quick in naming Vance Joseph his replacement, and it will certainly be an interesting season watching him in his first year as a head coach.
Kubiak not only was a great head coach, but the players loved him, making him hard to replace. Joseph has come in with a no-nonsense type attitude, and will definitely be trying to put his stamp on the team. He has never been a head coach at any level, but John Elway must have seen something special in him to give him his first opportunity as the main man in charge.
It is going to very important that the Broncos get off to a good start in 2017, as losses can certainly be tough for first-year coach. Joseph is going to have a microscope on him next season, though he does have former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Mike McCoy as his offensive coordinator. Joseph is going to have to lean on people, especially in his first season, and if he can get the respect of the locker room, he should be OK.
