4. Add WR depth

When the Kansas City Chiefs brought in Jeremy Maclin, the expectation was that he was going to be the marquee wide receiver they had been missing. At one time, Dwayne Bowe was expected to be just that for the organization, but he fizzled out after seven seasons with the team. Maclin had a rough season in 2016, and by seasons end, the real star wideout on the team was rookie Tyreek Hill.

Hill would go on to be a Pro Bowler in his first season in the league, as his play captivated the entire league. He is entrenched as the team’s leading wideout heading into camp, and hopefully for the Chiefs, Maclin can have a bounce-back year in 2017. Albert Wilson is slated to hit the free agent market, which means the Chiefs have to make a move to at least bring in a player like Robert Woods or Kamar Aiken.

Starting quarterback Alex Smith is never going to set the world on fire passing the ball, but that is an issue for later in this feature. The Chiefs need to make sure they are able to put up points in bunches in 2017, as they will have one of the harder schedules in the NFL. Kansas City will play offensive juggernauts like New England, Pittsburgh, Washington, and Dallas next season, so being able to stretch the field will be a priority each week.
